Wisanggeni was the son of Arjuna from his marriage to Dewi Dersanala, who was the daughter of Bathara Brahma. The stunningly handsome man possessed profound divine power. He spoke bluntly but he could always put forward good arguments for his words. Once, in his attempt to find where his father was, Wisanggeni set off for heaven. At Bathara Guru’s command, the gods refused to reveal his father’s where about is. He went berserk and left the gods’ abode in chaos. Together with Antareja, Gathutkaca and Antasena, Wisanggeni seized the throne of Astina. Their parents ( the Pandawas ) strongly disapproved of their action, and they finally handed over the throne.
